Privacy policy

Effective 2026-07-16 · PlainLanguage.us is a product of extrAIntelligence LLC

This policy is written the way we write everything: plainly. The short version: we never store your input. No AI processes your text: suggestions come from our fixed glossary. The service processes the text you submit only to return the plain-language result, and there is no feature that lets us store, save, or retrieve submitted text.

What we never collect

The text you submit. Your input is processed in memory and returned. It is not stored, not logged, not used to train anything, and not shared with anyone, including AI providers. There are none in the path your text takes.

What we collect, and why

What lives in your browser

If you use the web workspace, your API key and your theme preference are kept in your browser's local storage, on your machine. "Forget on this browser" on the account page removes the key. We don't use advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

Who else is involved

Two subprocessors: Cloudflare (hosting, compute, and the site's page analytics) and Stripe (payments). The analytics is Cloudflare Web Analytics: it counts page views without cookies or cross-site tracking, and it never sees text you submit. No data brokers, no ad networks, no analytics that identify you. Their roles, locations, and links live on the trust page. If we ever add a subprocessor, this policy is updated with a new effective date before that provider touches any data.

Your choices and your rights

These apply to everyone, in every place we serve. All of them start with an email to privacy@plainlanguage.us.

We do not sell personal information. There is nothing to sell: we hold an email address, a key hash, and usage counts.

If something goes wrong

If a security incident affects your data, we will email affected account holders without undue delay (our target is within 72 hours of confirming the incident) and post a notice on this page.

Who the service is for

PlainLanguage.us is built for professional use. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so plainly on this page with a new effective date, not bury it.
